INSTALLATION OF SCANNER

Aim :

            Installation of scanner and DVD drive.

a)      To connect the given scanner with  a PC.

b)      To configure the scanner with driver.

c)      To check the scanner by scanning page.

Reuirement :

            Pentium system

            Scanner with driver software

PROCEDURE:

Connect the scanner:

To install a scanner follow the steps below:

• Parallel Port Scanner
1. Shutdown system.
2. Hook parallel connector to printer port of your computer. If you have a SCSI scanner, or USB simply hook into one of those ports.
3. Unlock scanner head. This is usually done underneath scanner of on sides by power switch.

4. Plug in power for scanner boot system up Windows will recognize new device and hardware manager will appear.

• USBScanner
   
1. This one is very simple. You will simply plug in with computer running and install a driver for it.
2. Exit all programs running.
3. With only windows running plug in your scanner into the USB port
4. Give windows a few seconds
5. you should be brought to a hardware wizard

to configure a scanner

            open scanners and cameras properties

            start  àsettingsàcontrol panel

            double clicking scanners and cameras.

            Click add and follow the instruction on the screen

Use ADD new hardware :

           

            start  àsettingsàcontrol panel

            double click Add new hardware, and  follow the instruction on the screen

to check the scanner:

            turn on the scanner and launch the software.

            Place the photo on the glass bed as in face down.

            Acquire the image with scanning software.

            After getting the good previewed image save the scan to disk.

Result :

            Thus the scanner connection &configuration  was installed successfully
